Beyond the Harmon Wilkes Award, the awards presented to Unit 123 members at the January Membership meeting are as follows:
The Jan Ivory Award is given to the Unit Non-Life Master who has won the most masterpoints in the previous year.
The Art Glatt Award is given to the Unit player who won the most masterpoints at CCBA Sectionals in the previous year.
The Bob Glenn Award is given to the Unit player who won the most masterpoints in CCBA Regionals in the previous year.
The Ace of Clubs Awards are given to the players who topped their category in points won in ACBL club games in the previous year.
The Mini McKenney Awards are given to the Unit players who topped their categories by winning the most masterpoints during the calendar year in any and all ACBL sanctioned events.
The ACBL requires binding arbitration for any and all disputes and the CCBA has chosen to follow suit. In the event a dispute is could result in litigation, arbitration is the only option. It is more effective and less expensive for all parties. General rules for arbitration are the same as those of the ACBL.
The ACBL Recorder System allows players to record unpleasant or unfair occurrences at the playing table. It functions to keep track of instances with specific players in order to pursue discipline if bad or unethical conduct is repetitive. Because events are held throughout the ACBL, this is an excellent way to keep track of these sorts of behavior.
For a complete understanding as to the function and form of the Recorder process and for use of the form, please go to the ACBL website.
